Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what data DevToolHub collects when you visit devtoolhub.com, why, and what choices you have.

Who we are

DevToolHub is an independent technical blog operated by Amaresh Pelleti as a sole proprietor based in Ontario, Canada. For any privacy question or request, contact devtoolhub@gmail.com.

What we collect

  • Comments. When you leave a comment we store the name, email address, and any website you enter in the form, plus your IP address and browser user-agent string (used for spam detection). An anonymized hash of your email may be sent to Gravatar (privacy policy) to check for a profile image.
  • Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store the email address you provide and use it only to send new-post updates. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
  • Server logs. Our host records standard access logs (IP address, request time, page, referrer, user-agent) for security and troubleshooting.
  • Analytics and advertising data collected by third parties, described below.

We do not ask for or store payment card details, government IDs, or any special-category personal data.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 and Jetpack Stats to understand aggregate traffic — which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, and which devices they use. These tools set cookies or similar identifiers and process truncated IP data. We do not use analytics to identify individual readers. Google’s practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy; you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Advertising

Display ads on DevToolHub are served by Mediavine and its advertising partners. These partners may set cookies and use device identifiers to measure and personalize ads and limit how often you see the same ad. For details, see the Mediavine Privacy Policy. Where required by law, Mediavine presents a consent prompt and a “Your Privacy Choices” control that lets you limit the sale or sharing of your data for advertising.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links are affiliate or referral links. If you follow one and sign up or buy, we may earn a commission or credit at no extra cost to you. The affiliate network (for example the merchant itself or a platform such as Awin) may set a cookie recording that you arrived from our site, so the referral can be attributed. See our Affiliate Disclosure for the full explanation and the current list of programs.

Cookies

Cookies on this site fall into three groups: functional cookies WordPress sets if you comment or log in; analytics cookies from the tools above; and advertising cookies from Mediavine’s partners. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site remains readable without them, though some conveniences (such as remembering your comment details) will not work.

Embedded content from other sites

Articles may embed content such as videos, code sandboxes, or social posts. Embedded content behaves as though you visited the other site directly — those sites may collect data about you, set cookies, and monitor your interaction with that content.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal information. Data is processed on our behalf by our hosting provider, our analytics providers (Google, Automattic/Jetpack), our advertising provider (Mediavine), and our email delivery provider. If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email. We may disclose information if required by law.

How long we keep data

Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so follow-up comments can be approved automatically. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to each provider’s default retention (GA4 is currently set to 14 months). Server logs are rotated by our host on a short cycle.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of data for targeted advertising. This applies under the EU/UK GDPR, the California CCPA/CPRA and similar US state laws, and Canada’s PIPEDA. To exercise any of these, email devtoolhub@gmail.com — we respond within 30 days and will not discriminate against you for asking. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.

International visitors

The site is hosted in the United States and our service providers operate in the United States and other countries. If you access DevToolHub from outside those countries, your data will be transferred to and processed there.

Children

DevToolHub is a professional-audience site and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our tools or practices change. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.
